I did not write this but I think it needs to be discussed for "backslidden" or fallen Christians (or even the unsaved) because they want to tell you only God can judge them, when you are just keeping them accountible.

"Some people think that being a Christian means that you can’t hold others accountable for their inappropriate behavior. When a person is corrected based upon God’s Word, s(he)’ll sometimes say that you’re “judging” him/her. Well, that’s not completely true! Yes, The Bible does say “do not judge” (Luke 6:37) and “do not condemn” (Luke 6:37), however, God also tells us:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
This means that you should be a leader for God by holding other people accountable for their behavior. However, you should always approach situations in a loving manner because God instructs us to “do everything in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).
Holding others accountable doesn’t mean being overly critical or demeaning, it simply means to provide guidance and instruction with the intention of correcting behavior.Judgment means ‘to condemn’ and accountability means ‘to correct’. So it’s possible, and even appropriate, to hold others accountable for their behavior WITHOUT judging them!
Also, always remember to use judgment when confronting other people. If the situation is too “big” or too dangerous for you to handle alone, be sure to seek help from a trusted adult immediately! God puts people and resources in your life for a reason so be sure to ask for help if the need arises.
What are some examples of when you should hold other people responsible for their behavior?
- If someone is teasing, bullying or being mean to you or others.
- When someone takes something without permission.
- If someone is cheating on a test or being dishonest.
- When something just seems plain wrong, especially if it’s negatively impacting others.
